Project Location:

The project is located in Sur City 9 South Al Sharqia Governorate.

Objective of the project:

The Scope of the Services is to study the upgrading and dualization of existing Road which is approximately (4) km long, from the AL Barr Roundabout to AL Baladya Roundabout, and (2) of internal Roads. The road is through built-up area and on both sides of the roads there is Houses and Government Departments.

The Scope of Work is detailed as follows:

The Design Services shall consist of the following stages:

1. Study of the Alignment of the project road and Preparation of Preliminary design with Cost Estimate.

• Collect all previous studies, reports, as built drawing, mapping, and aerial photographs from DGR&LT, SCP, NSA, NCSI and other sources.
• Carryout a comprehensive study for upgrading of The Project Roads in Addition to Studying Possibility of Dualizing Part or Whole of (4) km Road from AL Berr Raoundabout to AL Baladya Roundabout.
• Study to improve all existing junctions, roundabouts and intersections within the subject project, and Providing Side-walks and Parking Area.
• Study of the existing pavement conditions and methods of it’s rehabilitation and design new pavement layers.
• Study protection/relocation of existing electrical cables/poles, water lines, overhead/underground telephone lines and other utilities.
• Study the traffic capacity of the existing roundabouts and propose any required upgrading.
• Study the need to modify the horizontal and vertical profile of the existing Roads and existing service roads
• Study the existing drainage structures and propose to replace or upgrade
• Propose and design pedestrian crossing facilities including overpasses and underpasses.
• Study the need to add/upgrade the existing street lighting or provide new street lighting to the main road and service roads.
• Preliminary construction cost estimates and preliminary estimated Time-Schedule for construction.

2.  Detailed Design and Tender Documents – Final Design Drawings, Tender Documents with Cost Estimate, Tendering & Tender Evaluation.
