Ministry of Transport & Communications
The sultanate of Oman is situated on the eastern fringe of the Arabian Peninsula and has an area of about 309,500 km2. The main objective is to study the classification of almost the whole road network and propose a clear and rational route numbering system for the guidance of road users within the Sultanate or those entering from the neighboring GCC countries, to arrive to any particular destination. During the work the Client expanded the scope of the project specified in the TOR requesting to prepare a tourist map for the Sultanate in the form of a road atlas similar to those used in the USA and Europe.
