  • Narrative Description of the Project:

    Dam SH-01 is located 15 km upstream of the Gulf of Oman. The earthdam comprises three main sections totaling a length of 3,2 km, with a total volume of 2,9 Mm3 and maximum dam height of 21 m.The reservoir has a maximum storage capacity of 37 Mm3 which is capable of storing the water volumes corresponding to the 500 years return period flood.Two free overflow weirs constructed on the internal rock abutments are provided. Design discharge capacity was set to the 10,000 years flood with about 610 m3/s discharge. A maximum discharge capacity of 4,025 m3/s corresponding to the PMF is secured. The dam is not constructed yet.
