Narrative Description of the Project:

The scope of works of Argout - Sarfait Road comprises of re-construction and rehabilitation of an existing asphalt road in Dhofar Region, Salalah, Sultanate of Oman. The project road connects Argout village with Sarfait village in Salalah at Governorate of Dhofar. The existing road is an asphalt road and was built in 1998. At both beginning and end of the road there are military checkpoints. This road is leading or continuing in the Republic of Yemen after the checkpoint at Oman ? Yemen boarders. Total length of the road is about 35.2 km. Only two sections of the road mentioned below are included for study and re-design under this project. Section-1: From km. 2+600 to km. 12+760. The work in this section is mainly the rehabilitation with some improvements at hairpin bend locations. Section-2: From km. 25+500 to km. 35+250. The work in this section mainly involved re-construction. However, small stretch at the beginning of this section is proposed for rehabilitation.

2) Traffic Study
3) Perform a hydrology study and hydraulic design to determine the drainage structures
4) Study alternative alignment in the hilly area through aerial photographs and mapping
5) Prepare preliminary design and tender documents
6) Coordination with concerned authorities to obtain their approval of the design
7) Prepare the final design and tender documents
8) Construction supervision
