Narrative Description of the Project:

This project is located in Batinah Region on existing Batinah Highway in the Wilayat Sohar and consists of construction of an interchange in place of existing roundabout along with allied works.Total length of the project along Batinah highway is about 4.0 km which shall be converted from four lanes to six lanes with tapering back to 4lanes. Also included in the scope of work is the construction of service roads, pedestrian underpasses.The work also includes expropriation of properties, relocation/protection of services (sewerage, telephone, electricity, water, irrigation) road lighting works and traffic signals.

Description:

Design Review and Construction Supervision which include the following:
1) Assist the Employer in Contract Administration and in Contract Management
2) Provide guidance and direction to the Contractor
3) Furnish all necessary ground and topographic data, including setting out of control points
4) Issue the interim payment certificate based on the progress at site and according to the conditions of the contract
5) Review and recommend for approval revision (if any) of Contractor's work schedule
6) Establish standardized Quantity and Quality control programs (Quality Plan)
7) Establish Safety plan
8) Review and approve Contractor's working drawings and temporary works proposals
9) Provide supervision of works to ensure Contractor's compliance with the specs and contractual obligations
10) Notify the Employer about Contractor's claims and provide the Client with the evaluation
11) Prepare variation orders, evaluate request of time extension
12) Keep the Client informed about progress and problems or potential problems
13) Coordination with Local Authorities and Third Parties involved in the works
