    Renardet were employed by the Contractor, STFA of Turkey, to undertake the design component of this design/construct project for the Ministry of Transport and Communications. It concerned the repair of selected damaged areas of the Rusayl-Nizwa Road between Bidbid Interchange and Izki. Our role was to survey the existing road pavement and identify areas where the budget for repairs were to be expended based on the Contractors preliminary selcted location obtained for the Ministry. In performance of our scope we prepared a report on the existing pavement incorporating input data from various sampling and testing as well as a visual condition survey to indentify the obvious distress manifestations. Our report was comprehensive in determining the residual life of the road pavement and included recommendations for a long term solution to the longevity of the road. The more immediate repair works were concurrent by the contractor in fulfilment of his Contract scope.
