Narrative Description of the Project:

The Scope of work is to re-align and improve the existing road from Yiti to Sifa villages for a total length of 21.5 km, to design a new Internal road at Sifa Jabal for 8.7 km and to design access roads to various villages inside Sifa for 10 km; all roads are designed to Omani Highway Design Standard (OHDS) 2010. The Yiti Sifa Road is designed according to the characteristics of a Secondary Rural Mountainous Road (design speed of 90 km/h, maximum gradient of 8%, typical cross section with one carriageway, one lane in each direction of 3.65 m and shoulders of 2.50m), the road is designed with adequate drainage (for all weather conditions), slope protections, walls and special box culverts. The Internal Road is designed according to the characteristics of Distributor Urban flat/rolling Road (Design Speed of 70 km/h, max gradient adopted 6.5%, cross section with one carriageway, one lanes in each direction of 3.50m and shoulders of 2.50m).

Description:

1) Detailed Topographic Survey
2) Perform a hydrology study and hydraulic design to determine the drainage structures
3) Study alternative alignment through aerial photographs and mapping
4) Design all necessary structures and other elements
5) Prepare design report, concept design, preliminary and detailed design, Engineers cost estimate
6) Coordination with concerned authorities to obtain their approval on the design
7) Construction supervision
